The Dark Knight Review

A perfect movie is an extremely rare thing. A movie of such quality the only word to describe it would be a “masterpiece” (I don’t like to use that word very often). A movie of this good only comes around once every great while, But 2008 has given us not one, but two perfect movies. First was the animated, sci-fi masterpiece, WALL-E, and now we have what I believe is the greatest comic book movie ever created, The Dark Knight. Batman Begins

The Batman franchise was practically dead and buried after the cinematic abomination known as Batman & Robin in 1997. Then along came Batman Begins to not only redeem the franchise, but make it far better than it ever had been before. Batman Begins is more than just another super hero movie, Batman Begins is a super hero epic!

Unlike the 1989 Tim Burton Batman film… click to read more

Hancock

This is a guest review written by Marcus from www.marcusmccurdy.com

When I first saw the previews for Hancock I couldn’t wait to see it. The idea of a bumbling super hero intrigued me and the physics of it all seemed more realistic to me what with him landing and destroying the street around him and stopping trains that ends up in their derailment. Preview after preview and my excitement grew. Then, as the release date crept inexorable closer I began to worry. Some preliminary reviews came out and from what I read Hancock did not sound like it was the  movie I was hoping for or the movie the trailers portrayed. Will Hancock be able to save itself from the hype? Keep reading to find out!

Spiderman 2

Spiderman 2 is fantastic! It took everything that made Spiderman a great comic book movie, and made it all the better. Its one of the rare sequels that outdoes the original in every way, and it is one of the best super hero movies ever made. Read more

Spiderman

Ah Spiderman 1. A very enjoyable and fun movie. It makes me sad to know how big of a slap in the face Spiderman 3 was after two great movies. But Spiderman 3 can not dampen the greatness of the first two films.

Spiderman was really the movie that started the current success…

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Hellboy II is a very fun movie. It has likable characters, good action, good humor and a very strong imagination (but that is to be expected from the director of Pan’s Labyrinth). It may just seem like another super hero movie in a year where men in iron suits, green giants and flying Will Smiths seem to flood the big screen, but Hellboy II is actually my favorite of the bunch so far. The Incredible Hulk

Remember that 2003 Hulk movie? Yeah I try to forget too. Thankfully The Incredible Hulk is a really good movie, and infinitely better than that Ang Lee disaster. Read more

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I have to admit I was a little worried about how Indiana Jones 4 was going to turn out, we all saw what happened with Star Wars after all. I’m happy to say that Indiana Jones lives up to it’s predecessors…Although it took two viewings for me to fully appreciate it. The first time I saw it I was a little dissapointed, I thought it was good, but I didn’t think it was near as good as the original three movies. I thought it was too ridiculous and over the top, but after the second time I thought it was no more ridiculous or over the top as the other Indys. I was probably just expecting the worst because of those Star Wars prequels. Read more

Iron Man’s awesomely spectacular suit

Marcus wrote a post about Iron Man’s suit and the feasibility of it and as you may have guessed we won’t be getting our hands on a suit anytime soon. We are looking forward to getting into a cushy movie theater to see Iron Man very soon though. Some initial reviews have been released and it looks promising. Read Marcus’s post here
